According to newly-released data from STR Global, which tracks developments in the hotel industry, China, India, Indonesia, Qatar, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom are the areas outside the U.S. with the highest number of rooms going on the market in 2010.Ian Carter, president of global operations and interim head of development for Hilton Worldwide Inc believes that China is undoubtedly one of the hottest development areas in the world. A ton of Hilton properties are opening in China this year. Some of them are the Waldorf Astoria in Shanghai on the Bund in June and the Doubletree by Hilton in Wuxi in October. They're also opening a Marriott.
I think this sounds very interesting. I'm very interested in visited said places and now that they are apparently ooming with new developments, it makes it that much cool.
The Pentagon is heavily thinking about finally ridding the Don't Ask, Don't Tell law. The policy was first made in1993 by President Bill Gates but it didn't help or fixed anything, it only made the homophobic military personels wonder about one's sexuality and it made homosexuals feel as if they had to hide their true self and they always wondered when they would be found out and kicked out of the military. President Obama was the fist one to state the repeal on the last week State of Union Address but, many have wanted it gone a longg time ago. Of course, repealing this law will lead to mix feelings. Mike Mullen agrees with the law and says that “allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly [in the military] would be the right thing to do." Gates says that it make take over a year to officially repeal the law, but it will enforced as soon as possible.
I think it's great that they're finally getting rid of that stupid law. Took them long enough! The whole policy was insane and did nothing for anyone. Maybe soon gays will get granted even more rights.
Nokia Corp has made a new cellular device that they expect to be the newest rave. They've deiced to try an edge with their phone: make navigational services completely free. Up until now, users under the Nokia contract had to pay for navigational services but not anymore! One of the features that's included with the navigational service is that customers get to download over 180 of countries maps for free. Nokia's executive vice president, Mr. Vanjoki says that the new navigational interface has new graphics and travel guides. Nokia is using the navigation in hopes that it will uped their revenue from selling mobile devices. The new Nokia phone is competing against the big boy phones though (Iphone and Google Android). Google is also offering free navigation to Motorola Inc's droids.
Wow, this sounds pretty cool. I didn't even know that you had to paid for navigation for phones in the first place. On the commercials, they always make it seem like all of those things are free. It makes me wonder what other apps they show in commercials that aren't free. It's kinda of annoying that you have to pay extra money for apps on phones. So I really do think that making navigation services free is a really great idea.
